Zach had always been the kind of guy who wore his heart on his sleeve. He was loyal, kind, and treated everyone with respect. So when he met Mia, everything felt like it clicked. It wasn’t a huge thing at first—just small moments, little red flags that seemed so insignificant that he pushed them aside.
It all started at a party one weekend. Zach and Mia had been together for a few months by then, and things had been going well—at least, he thought they were. Mia had always been the life of the party, charming everyone she met with her laughter and her effortless charisma. Zach didn’t mind it at first. He was proud of her, loved how she could light up any room. But when he noticed her lingering a little too long with a guy from work, he brushed it off.
“Zach, you’re just being paranoid,” she had said with a smile when he’d mentioned it. “We’re just friends.”

The second flag came a few weeks later. Zach had planned a romantic evening for just the two of them, a surprise dinner in his apartment.
